Kaffeeklatsches

I really like the spelling of kaffeeklatsches even though it sound kind of ordinary. (Kaffeeklatsches means an informal social gathering for coffee and conversation.)
"So I said, 'You bet your latte, I'm fully caffeinated!'" "No! You didn't!"
I'm not a coffee drinker. I don't like coffee. And I definitely do not like to go to Starbucks to buy them even if I like them. I don't like the idea of giving my name and having put it on a cup and being called out to get the drink. Other places besides Starbucks does it too and I hate it. What is the point of that except to embarrass people who have odd names or having their names butchered or being called out when they really didn't want to be noticed? I prefer numbers. Just give me a number and I'll answer to that instead.

  1. I love coffee - homemade that is, as I like my coffee with lots! of sugar and lactose-free cream. This is hard to get when visiting, and hubby brews the vey best coffee, so visiting or just not at home, I'm a tea drinker. In my opinion it is harder to screw up the brewing of tea than coffee. I have had nasty teas, but only once an undrinkable one ;)
And those cups are darned cute!

    1. I had a neighbour who was lactose intolerant but liked cream in her coffee. She would bring it when invited to coffee or when going to a café. Nowadays, in cafés in Europe, they always have some lactose free milk. But since I like my coffee black, I don't need that.

    2. Charlotte: Sugar does make coffee taste better but I still don't like coffee. I'm not much of a tea drinker but I like ice tea. I like cute cups so I drew these.

Thank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.

    3. Marianne: I didn't even know there is lactose-free cream. Is lactose-free cream the same as lactose-free milk? I'm much into coffee so I don't even know. Black coffee is probably too strong for me.

Thank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.

  2. I guess the modern English term for "kaffeeklatsch" would be "coffee date."

  4. I am a tea drinker. Sadly coffee doesn't agree with me though I love the smell. And I rarely have a cup when out.

    1. Elephant's Child: I don't much like the smell of coffee, perhaps it's a habit as I never grew up around coffee drinkers.

  6. As you know, I'm German. We invented the Kaffeeklatsch. LOL
And as a German, I also prefer coffee to tea, there is only a tiny part of our country where they prefer tea and that's directly at the North Sea. Tea needs special water, it just doesn't taste good in some places.
I'm lactose intolerant, so I've been drinking my coffee black for decades. But yes, I absolutely love my coffee.

I'm not much of a tea drinker but I guess in some places, the water aren't that great.

Thank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
