Update: Things I like to continue, start or restart
01 - Continue blogging - Succeeded — This I did but not consistently but I haven't been consistent with my blogging for at least ten years so I don't expect that to change but at least I'll keep blogging.
02 - Continue to refuse to join any social media or anywhere else to embarrass myself except in a blog - Succeeded — Yep, still only doing blogging.
03 - Restart commenting more on blogs - Semi-Succeeded — I did comment more sadly not more than I like.
04 - Start practicing procrastinating in my sleep - Semi-Succeeded — While I was sleeping, I forgot what I did so I may have succeeded without knowing.
05 - Restart on finishing my artworks - Failed — I just don't seem to remember to work on them or rather I looked at the long list of (artwork) files, found it too daunting, turned to do something else and then forgot about them.
06 - Continue to not learn any new people skills - Semi-Succeeded — I guess I don't quite know how to be polite anymore when people are rude.
07 - Restart finishing/editing my novels and short stories - Semi-Succeeded — I have tried to finish a few pieces but only made a little progress. I don't know where my motivation went.
08 - Start watching less youtube - Failed — I have a terrible habit of watching youtube when I'm stressed or when I'm unable to motivate myself to do things. Sometimes getting lost in someone else's lives makes you think you have nothing to worry about.
09 - Start exercising every day or at least briefly consider to consider doing it - Failed — why is this so hard?
10 - Continue trying to go wireless - Failed — Even when I'm tripping over them, I seeme unable to keep the wires at bay. I don't think people can go wireless because no matter whatever technology you use, there will be wires.
11 - Continue doing jigsaw puzzles - Failed— I haven't done one puzzle in almost a year.
12 - Restart reading more fantasies, science fiction, middle grade books and books that are not murder mysteries - Semi-Failed — I shouldn't bother trying to have varieties in my reading. I find most books boring now so it doesn't matter what genre they are in. There's nothing wrong in reading the same types of books.
Did you make goals at the start of the year and if you did, did you succeed?

01 - The house with a dragon in it by Nick Lake, illustrated by Emily Gravett
What's it about: a dragon, a witch, an orphan, wishes, family
It was disappointing that the dragon is only at the beginning and end of the book and didn't get involved in the main story. This is really about an orphan and a witch who grants her wishes. I half enjoyed this. It's mostly because I expected more of the dragon so it's like false advertising, perhaps this needs a new title and new cover art. The illustrations are wonderful.

60 Reasons why I'm a bad blogger & 500th Post
In a previous post I said, Blogging is not my life but it's part of my life. And it's still true now. Without blogging, I would probably procrastinate more, have more listless days and basically put off almost everything. Having a blog is something to keep my mind active enough to do other things. If that makes any sense. So I'll keep on blogging away.

Things I like to continue, start or restart
01 - Continue blogging — I don't have to say it but I like to just to remind myself just in case I go mad and quit blogging.
02 - Continue to refuse to join any social media or anywhere else to embarrass myself except in a blog.
03 - Restart commenting more on blogs — I may have slacked in this since last year and I have no excuses for it. I just don't seem to have things to say like I used to. Sometimes I re-read a post a dozen times trying to find something to say but just end up with something brief or not leave any comment. It probably doesn't matter what I say but I like to say something worth reading however brief they may be.
04 - Start practicing procrastinating in my sleep.
05 - Restart on finishing my artworks that may have been piling up for years — I have no idea how many unfinished artworks I have but I'm sure it would take a couple of years to finish them all but no one would really finish everything in their lifetime so trying for a couple is at least something.
06 - Continue to not learn any new people skills — I don't know why but my people skills aren't getting better. I always try to be polite but sometimes people are not polite and I can't help but treat them the same way they treat me. I can only tolerate so much crap.
07 - Restart finishing/editing my novels and short stories — I keep working at them and keep not finishing them and even after many tries, I still fail to finish. But I persist anyway. Because I have a need to finish. There is a growing number like my artworks and I may never get to them but I hope I can finish a couple.
08 - Start watching less youtube — This is probably not something I can do too well but I can try. I think less screen time would do me good. At least I'm not watching youtube on a phone.
09 - Start exercising every day or at least briefly consider to consider doing it.
10 - Continue trying to go wireless even though there is no such thing when you have to charge everything with wires.
11 - Continue doing jigsaw puzzles — I haven't done one in a long while but I like doing them and they help me to spend less time staring at screens.
12 - Restart reading more fantasies, science fiction, middle grade books and books that are not murder mysteries — These few years, I had been reading nothing but murder mysteries so now I think it's time to add back the books I used to read. I don't want to say reading too much murders is bad for me but having more varieties in my reading is better.
What do you plan to continue, start or restart doing this year?

Scribtober 2025
When I did Inktober, I had a theme. So this year I'm going with a theme - Accidently Here - but it might as well be multiplicity because there are a lot of multiples but I'm still coming up with ideas. There's only a few days left in October so I'll probably continue this to November. Some of these I added in color background to get them to show more as they are done in pencil which doesn't show well. I will maybe color them later when I have the time, right now is really all about drawing. Here are just a few that I had done. (Click on image for closeup.)

Seven Things: Thoughts & Complaints
![]() |
| Greetings From Brooklyn |
01 - A recent author was maybe considered a scammer because her book turned out to be crappy. She hyped up her book so readers were expecting something amazing and they didn't get it. Any book no matter how well is written or how great the author is, still have a chance to be crappy so why are people complaining? I can understand the disappointment of spending money on a book and then getting something crappy. But she is not completely to blame. I think it's your fault if you believe in the hype, right? I mean, a lot of books were hyped/marketed to be amazing and never delivered so why focus on this particular author?
02 - Technology is a bit problematic if you can't get online. For example, once when I searched my computer for why I can't get online, the answer my computer showed me is to tell me I have to be online to see the answers - why is the help on your computer not on your computer but online? The problem is everything is online so if you can't get online, than you're screwed. But I suppose you can call someone instead...
03 - Some bloggers have made their blog to allow only members of the blog to leave comments which I thought is a form of exclusivity. This is saying 'you can only participate if you're a member' which irks me but it shouldn't because everyone have the rights to have their blog read only by the people they want.
When new readers comes along, how are they to comment? Supposedly, would-be readers can email the blogger but for me, I'm a bit of a shy reader when it comes to new blogs (or even blogs I have read for years) so I don't go about asking permissions to comment on blogs. A while back, when some bloggers closed a blog and started a new one, they left a post about sending them emails to get their new blog's url but I never did that either. I don't know why but I feel a bit awkward asking for permission or their new url when I didn't need it before. I guess on a personal level, I'm not good at asking such things when I don't know if those bloggers even remember me as one of their readers.
04 - Recently, I saw a video about tips to living a better life and the first thing is to clean your toilet - does it sound like your life would be better if you clean your toilet? It might be true but it's not the kind of advice I care for. I think if you're a clean freak, that might actually be your first choice but I don't know. I think they probably should have listed it lower on the list because I didn't want to watch the rest after that advice.
05 - Last month, I had to sign out of my kobo ereader and then when I signed back in, all my preferences are gone. What happened was I accidentally removed a library book while trying to remove a different book and somehow hit on the wrong book. Then I tried to retrieve it but it wouldn't work. Even when I returned and re-borrowed the book, it wouldn't re-upload when I synced the device. So I signed out of Kobo and then re-signed in but damm, all my preferences (text sizes, margin width, brightness settings, words I saved when I looked up their definition, etc.) are all gone. I have to reset every preference I had ever changed. I used the same kobo account and everything but it was as it was treating me like a new user. Why aren't my preferences saved to my device or account? It didn't make sense. Supposedly signing out of something can fix problems because when there is no other option and I wasn't going to reset the whole device but I might as well have done it since I had to reset every preference anyway.
I was dumb not to try to sign out of Overdrive first which might have saved me some headaches which hadn't occurred to me. Maybe my brain isn't working too well these days but not being able to have your saved preferences when you signed out of the device is just stupid.
06 - Sadly, I have exceeded my holds at the library because some of the books I had placed are taking a really long time. The longest one will take 20 weeks until it is my turn to borrow it which makes me wonder how I have the patience to wait for books. The longest time I had waited for a library book is a little over half a year and that book was such a disappointment but I still continue to wait. I don't know where I get the patience but I have plenty of it when it comes to waiting for library books. (Note: I read only borrowed library ebooks.)
07 - Do you ever hit the wrong keys on your computer and your screen or app or window that are opened does some crazy or inexplicable things you can't undo or fix? That's me most daily now. It's especially annoying when I'm using Firefox because they added features I didn't want and can't turn off because some of them have no turn off option and some makes no sense to me.
I hate it when users have to adapt to do things in new ways instead of doing it their way. Sometimes I think app creators or technology-related creators likes to annoy users by forcing them to do things their way or how else to explain why updates and upgrades are always so annoyingly dumber or worst?
What's on your mind these days?

A-Z April 2025 Challenge: Reflection
01 - I had picked three words and let the readers choose which one I will be rambling about or if I have an inkling, tell a (fictional) story. This was maybe a good idea but readers don't seem to want to choose so then I decided I can choose the word if it gets too late to post. Since I have to wait for people to choose the words, I have to write/post on the same day so that means just a few hours to write each post which is a bit nerve-wracking but still kind of fun.
02 - I made a list of blogs I was going to visit (from the master list) - a very short list because I want to make it easier for myself. I admit there are many themes I have no interest in but I did visit all the blogs on the master list (except for the adult content ones) just to check them out.
03 - Before the challenge started, I had made coffee mugs with the alphabets so I don't have to think up or make images/graphics for each post which lowers the stress (see above and below).
04 - I debated on leaving a link (to my a-z posts) whenever I leave a comment. I don't want people to think they have to visit me back but at the same time, I want to make it easier for people to visit me. So in the end, I left some links but not a lot.
05 - I did get a little lazy at commenting toward the end. I really do try to leave a comment but my attention span seemed to wane a lot. Plus my wi-fi sometimes had nervous breakdowns just for fun so sometimes I'm not sure my comments went through and I was too lazy to check.
06 - I'm very grateful to those who chose to visit and leave comments - they made the overall challenge more fun and more interactive. Without readers, it wouldn't be as fun so thank you all.

Umbrella
I used to love photographing the rain during rainy days and this led to searching for umbrellas especially yellow ones as they were rare. I've only actually taken less than five photos of yellow umbrellas in 10+ years and none of them were good as I always seemed to late to capture it and the person carrying the umbrella was gone before I can take another shot. I still look for yellow umbrellas now and then. I don't want to say I have an obsession with umbrellas but I have them in my artworks and yes I do own a yellow umbrella but it's too tiny to use during the rain.
Below I thought I share one of my recent redo artwork. I'm still unsatisfied with some of the colors. I had called it Flatiron (after the building in the middle of the piece) but decided today this piece should be called raining sunshine.

Here is a new-ish art titled Nook in the Universe which I turned into a Spot the Difference game. I worked on this for months using Affinity Designer which I'm still learning how to use but I think they turned out pretty good. Can you spot the 12 differences between these two drawings? Answers are here. (Click on images for a larger view) (M. Faith is my pen name in case anyone is curious.)

02 - I'm doing the April A-Z Challenge because I like the challenge or maybe I like torturing myself by speed-writing posts but whatever reason, I'm up for it though I have no post prepared even though the challenge starts tomorrow. As usual, I will post random nonsense that may or may not entertain people a little with some not too-long fiction. More about the A-Z Challenge here.

February 2024 - Brief Review
![]() |
| the gardener (cropped), 2014 |
01 - I read some forgettable books. Either I'm slowly losing my love for reading or else I have been reading a lot of bland/crappy books. Maybe I'm just not picking the right books to read. I'll still look for books but there not many that interest me these days.
02 - I had a long fight with my computer. Apparently technology and I no longer get along. Things just keep going wrong with my computer. I had just upgraded to the most recent operating system (I used a Mac) but still there has been more problems than usual whenever I upgrade. Maybe I'm getting dumber or computers are getting smarter? I spent most of February cursing at the screen. Real fun when you're in a rush to finish a project for work.
03 - I hosted Words for Wednesday and I have to admit, I wasn't a very good host. I visited those who participated but a day or two late and I didn't try to get people to participate. I'm not even sure I know how aside from visiting people's blogs. I get the feeling people are less and less interested in prompts, memes, challenges. Even I have been participating less and less. But I really do like these prompts, memes, challenges because it brings bloggers together.
Also, I don't know why, I posted one of the words misspelled (and later corrected it) and now I feel stupid about it. I used spellcheck but for whatever reason, it didn't tell me that word was wrong the first few times until I do a re-spellcheck in a new document. No idea how that happened since both documents used the same app. Also, also, I could have made it easier on myself by writing the story first and then choose the prompts from the story but I decided to pick the prompts and then write the story using the prompts, like other participants. I don't like to take the easy way for these things even though I can.
How was your February? I hope March is being good to you.

Wallflower
I don't live here, who can say
I casually occupy this life, this space
a room within another room
where sometimes I am awake
sometimes I am asleep
I don't live here, not really
all my possessions packed inside tiny boxes
lined and stacked against the corners
rearrange now and then
to change my horizon
I don't live here, how can you tell
when I blend in so easily
a wallpaper with no patterns
a small form with no shape
a blurred shadow barely seen
inside someone's eye
I don't live here, can it be true
am I a stranger within another stranger
a drift of a whisper among whispers
sometimes I become easily recognized
as being part of the living
a body among millions
I come and I go
forever in the motion of moving
I don't live here, not really
now and then
if you stand close enough
you can almost hear me
a small cry in the careless wind
a whim of a gentle spirit
I slowly merge with everything
if anyone ask
I don't live here
is what I'll say

Retro Minute #7: Your Horoscope From the Past
Your Horoscope From the Past
![]() |
| 'aquarius' (background astro signs by Tavmjong) |
01/
Your great-great-aunt from your mother's side left you a fortune on the condition that you race against a monkey. Unfortunately you lost but don't worry, the monkey knew how to spent his fortune. There is now a museum for bananas in New Mexico.
02/
You've lost everything and almost gone into depression but thanks to an advice from a stranger, you've got yourself a home near the airport and even made a friend, only, you can never ask him why his hair is like that.
03/
Some horrible family secret exploded and you were left to handle the aftermath. But due to your youthful nature, you fought tirelessly and you're perfectly fine other than the fact that you now live in a trailer and own a huge fishing boat that doesn't work.
04/
Your not-so-nice-relatives got you into a great debt. But you've survived and you've paid off the debt only now your relatives think you're the go-to-person for everything. But be kind to your great-uncle, he may leave you his collection of donkey memorabilia.
05/
Your current relationship collapsed. You soon met someone else who is better for you, only that, he/she had a weird assumption that you can buy them anything.
06/
The love of your life left you a strange vibe after a long weekend but soon, you found out why. But you've stayed loyal and you're still together only now she/he eyes you with a look of distaste whenever you eat a steak.
07/
You had to turn down a very lucrative job offer but a new offer came along soon after and you were happier for it for twenty-six seconds. Then you realized you've got a job that made you very unhappy but don't worry, your unhappiness will only last forty-seven years.
08/
You were stubborn enough to stick to your belief. Now you're a few hundred dollars shorter but at least you've still got your health and your very own vehicle though it only runs on your ability to steer with your toes.
09/
Your overly generous nature caused your family to think they can take advantage of you and somehow got you into a mess that caused you to lose your house, your car, your job and even your friends. But good news, you no longer have to lend anyone money ever again and you still have your cat though he/she spends a lot of time away from you.
10/
An old friend remembered you in his/her will and left you a large sum of money. But you lost it in a week. You were neither rich nor poorer for it though you wished that friend had forgotten you. The view through your window with the steel bars is very limited.
11/
You've lost a very precious item dear to you but don't worry, you found it again when you met someone in the rain pulling a sheep up a very steep road.
12/
After years of working at an old job, you finally got a chance at a new one. Unfortunely, you had to learn to ask people if they would like ketchup with their fries.
Note: You know these are all nonsense, right? They are meant for fun.
