Can I visit your library and read some of the books there that I haven't read yet but would like to? You have excellent taste in books.
ReplyDeleteKalpana: You can come by any time. Lots of choice of seatings.
DeleteThank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
I have mostly non fiction.
ReplyDeleteChristine: I don't read a lot of nonfiction but maybe someday, I can read more of them.

I have been told that I already have a library. One that I happily add to. I read fiction (from most genres) without regard to target age groups, and non fiction too specialising mostly in memoirs, letters, diaries and biographies and autobiographies. Some at least of your library has a home here - though I never warmed to Charles Dickens.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child: I don't read a lot of non fiction but perhaps I should read more of them.
DeleteI have to admit, Charles Dickens is not for everyone. I didn't read a whole lot of his books but the ones I read are good though still rather long.

Actually my library looks a bit like this. As you inclucde 1000 favourite books it's quite an allround description of anyone's library ;)
ReplyDeleteI have to include all books by Estrid Ott, a lot of books the author of which I do not know (a weaknes of mine I forget who wrote the books and for that reason my library is sorted after name of the book ;) )
But ...
15. ALL of Jules Verne's books - really? I read some of the lesser and unknown works of his, and I found they were unknown for a reason. Boring is almost too nice a word ;)
Charlotte: 1,000 books sounds a lot but when you compare to the millions of books that most of us never get to read, it's not a lot. Or so I think.
DeleteJules Verne's books are kind of boring but they have really great, imaginative ideas. Rethinking this, I have altered my list. Actually this list is what I like now but maybe I'll think differently next month.
Thank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
Sounds like a wonderful library.
ReplyDeleteWendyW: I think so too although I'm sure I would change my mind on some of these later on.

Everything that has ever been shortlisted for the Women's Fiction Prize. I have never read a book they recommend that I have not loved.
ReplyDeleteMartine: I have not heard of the Women's Fiction Prize before. It seems like a good way to honor female writers.
