On Saturday, April 2, Ghost, a Komondor breed with long, shaggy hair was mistakenly thrown into the trash by the dog owner's wife. The week before the incident, Mr. Greg Gregson and his wife, Gaby, had a fight about getting a pet. Mr. Gregson wanted a dog and Mrs. Gregson wanted a cat. When they couldn't agree, Mrs. Gregson went off to her sister's. When Mrs. Gregson returned, she found a pile of trash among other things in her living room and threw them away.
Hours later when Mr. Gregson returned home from work, he realized his dog, Ghost was missing. When he asked his wife, she didn't know where the dog went and "how dare" Mr. Gregson get a dog without asking her first.
Needless to say, Ghost returned on his own. Surveillance videos captured from various car cameras and witnesses, shown Ghost jumping out of the garbage truck and into another car that was going the other way. He then got off that car, stopped for a red light, raced toward the streets where Mr. Gregson's house was and barked to be let in. Mr. Gregson opened the door and hugged the dog. Later, when we asked him why he cried when he saw his dog, Mr. Gregson replied, "None of your business" and slammed the door. A week later, we asked him if Mrs. Gregson approved of Ghost, he replied, "Mind your own business." Our source told us Mr. Gregson had since moved out with Ghost but without Mrs. Gregson.
02 - A New Breed of Cat Mermaids Are Found In The Wild
An artist's rendition of a tabbymaid. |
Amateur science nerd, Sam Gray, was scrubber diving (Mr. Gray likes to dive through trash in the sea to look for valuables) in the Fishnet Isle when he saw the first cat mermaid and the many ones that emerged from the pile of trash. He took several photos but all of them were blurry. But we can promise you these cat mermaids existed.
Tabbymaid is the name Mr. Gray came up with for the cat mermaids. For twenty years, Mr. Gray had a tabby cat who loved watching mermaid shows. He named these new species after his beloved pet.
As there are only 12 of these tabbymaids and as they were the only ones of its kind, they had been placed under the Extinct Species Act. Under this act, the tabbymaids will be protected and ensured they will carry on their species. The tabbymaids had be swept away and placed in a secret location where they will be studied and cared for by cat-loving and mermaid-loving scientists.
We, at Good News From The Weird Wide World, had been granted an exclusive viewing of the tabbymaids. They are about the size of a house cat with some having furry tails. Cameras were not allowed inside the facility but we can assure you, these tabbymaids are amazing and they are real.
The public may never see these tabbymaids but our sources revealed we will soon see these tabbymaids in a museum near you but those in the charge of the tabbymaids denied it and said it was only a rumor. In time, we will see if that is true or not. In the meantime, our artist had rendered this tabbymaid so you may see what they look like.
03 - Pig Saved Baby From Drowning
On Good Saturday, Wilhelmina Goodman was walking her baby girl Geta in her pram, followed by their pet pig Goody, when a man came and snatched Greta and ran off. Goody took off after the kidnapper and nicked him on the leg. The man tried to shake the pig off him but Goody held on. Then in a fit of rage, he threw the baby away to deal with the pig. The baby landed in the river beside the park. Goody let the man go and jumped into the water. She grabbed onto the blanket that was wrapped around the baby and pulled her to land.
The would-be kidnapper had ran off when the Goody let him go but he was later captured and held without bail.
Mr. Goodman, not present at the scene, had been giving daily swim lessons to Goody in hopes of entering Goody in a Goodwill Pet race. He said, "Thank goodness Goody is good at swimming or else we would have lost both of them."
Later, we learned, Goody got a gold medal at the Goodwill Pet race. Her reward was a lifetime supplies of chewy treats. But the best present was from Mr. Goodman. He built a pool in their backyard for Goody so that she may swim as much as she likes.

I'm glad Ghost returned after being mistaken for garbage by Mrs Gregson. My sister in law had a Komondor - he was huge. Grooming him was a major event. He looked magnificent when he walked and his pelt moved with him. He looked like like a walking a rug.
ReplyDeleteKalpana: I've always like stories of cats and dogs finding their way home. Komondor dogs are quite magnificent looking.

Cat mermaids? A pig who takes swimming lessons? You have quite the imagination!
Roberta R: The cat mermaids idea is around before I even thought of it but I really like it. It's a wonderful magical world, you never know what can be possible.
