I guess I have some affinity with postcards. Here's a list.
01 - The name of my blog is Postcards from the Bookstore which named because I used to (and I still do now and then) buy postcards from bookstores and sometimes other places if I happen to see them. I once also had a blog named Postcards from the Rain and another named Postcards from the Clouds.
02 - One of my favorite books is Postcards from a Dead Girl by Kirk Farber. It's kind of a sad (fictional) book about grief, letting go, postcards, travels and neurotic dreams. But it's a funny book. It's the only book I ever laughed out loud while reading. More about the book over here.
03 - There was one time I joined a postcards exchange and got a bunch of cards in the mail which was fun. I sent postcards with some of my maybe-poetry (I'm not sure if some of them would be considered poetry) and it was a good exercise in trying to fit words into a tiny space on the back of a postcard.

04 - I collect postcards relating to New York but I haven't found any new ones these days as there are seldom new designs. I really like the idea of New York postcards and probably would have created a blog and named it Postcards from New York.
05 - Sometimes I get postcards of Maine from one of my pen pals. I've never been to Maine but I think if I ever want to move, I'll probably pick Maine.
06 - I have done some artworks relating to postcards. You can see one here on this post.
Have you ever collected postcards? Do you like postcards?
For tomorrow, the letter Q, the choices are (1) quiet, (2) question, (3) quirk. Choose which word I might ramble about or tell a story.
Click above or go here to find out more about the Blogging From A-Z Challenge.
I participated in postcard poetry for several years.
ReplyDeleteI send postcards to family but lately they comeback
Even though the address is correct.
I pick quirk
Kristin: It's so sad when mail gets returned. I had that happened a few times.
DeleteThank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
I have always liked postcards. I collected them for awhile when I was a kid. These days, postcards are few and far between, aren't they? Now everyone on vacay just texts or emails a photo from their phone if they're so inclined.
ReplyDeleteI love today's cup with the fish scales and the fish tail for a handle! Nice touch.
For tomorrow's word, I vote for "quirk."
Debra: It's sad. People are so into using their phones. I guess a photo is better than nothing.
DeleteThis is my favorite mug/cup creation. I would have put a mermaid there but would defeat the tail handle.
Thank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
I like postcards though they are getting harder and harder to find. Out of step again I pick quiet for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child: I have noticed not many places sells postcards but at least, they still do.
DeleteThank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
I do like postcards -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com

DeleteJamie (jannghi.blogspot.com): Agree on postcards becoming harder to find.
ReplyDeleteFor tomorrow, I pick quirk.
Jamie: But if found, it's kind of a nice surprise.
DeleteThank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
A postcards exchange is such a fun idea.
ReplyDeleteI vote for quiet.
Greg: The postcard exchange was fun for me. Perhaps some blogger can hold an exchange?
DeleteThank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
Postcards - one of the few things I don't collect. Enjoying your posts - I vote for quirky.
ReplyDeleteTami Von Zalez: Postcards are rare these days but I think they are worth collecting.
DeleteThank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
I do the Poetry Postcard Challenge in August and the odd Postcrossing card the rest of the year, though far too busy this mont lol - how has A to Z been for you Li?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: I don't know who this is but there are some names coming to my head but I can't decide so I'm going to leave it. But thank you for stopping by.
DeleteHave a lovely day.
I love that you have/had three blogs with postcards in their names! I'm officially declaring you a postcard pundit. I love them, too. I've done 5 or 6 100-day projects doing simply less-than-5-minute watercolors on postcards. I later send them out, because I'm a snail mail devotee. I've just placed a request with my library for Postcards from a Dead Girl - I'm sure I'll like it.
ReplyDeleteDeborah Weber: I don't know about being a postcard pundit but I love postcards.
DeleteI hope you like Postcards from a Dead Girl though I understand not every one will like it.
Have a lovely day.
