My theme for the A-Z challenge is Blogging with a Side of Ramblings and Short Fiction. For this first post, I picked these three words as an acronym to spell out ABC – authoring, barmy, chronicles – which is another way of saying blogging. Authoring is pretty accurate because when you send a post to the world, you publish it and that makes you an author so you're authoring. Barmy means foolish, silly, something like that, which is how I blog. Being serious all the time is not fun. As for chronicles, that would be kind of accurate too since your posts are in chronological order and I think anything you post on your blog is you chronicling something, either the things you do daily or even just little things you worry about. So I'm authoring barmy chronicles which sounds kind of odd but I like it.
Here are some barmy chronicles. As to whether they are true or not, you decide.
01 - My plant died because I remembered to water it.
02 - During a coming storm, two women came to preach about god while behind them, garbage bins and debris rolled past. It was another ordinary Saturday.
03 - The problem with living is all the decisions you have to make like which assassins is best when dealing with your mother-in-law.
04 - My neighbor painted his house blue to match the sky. Then it rained. He, again, repainted his house to match the sky. Then it snowed. And again, he repainted his house. Then a storm came and swept his house away. Now he sits in his front yard and sells paint.
05 - My friend's friend's friend's cousin brought my old coffee table and then tried to return it. He said it doesn't make coffee. I said that's not what a coffee table does but he insisted I give his money back and so I did and I took the table back. It turned out he had someone built in a coffee maker into the table but instead of coffee, it makes tea.
What barmy chronicles would you write on your blog?

Jamie (jannghi.blospot.com): Interesting idea for the A to Z. I don't bother keeping plants, especially when I was living on my own. I would never have remembered to water them! It was hard enough remembering just to water the lawn and bushes!
ReplyDeleteJamie: Watering plants don't always kill them but it did. Some task are better not to start them so I'm with you, I don't have plants.
DeleteThank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
Haha! I love these. Don't ask me to stort the fictions because I will always get it wrong but life is often crazier than our imagination, eh?
ReplyDeleteCrystal Collier: Only #1 and 2 are true. If anyone thought #3 is true, than they have a problems.

Barmy rambling. It's what I do. Especially the barmy part.
ReplyDeleteAl Penwasser: I do the same, a lot of barmy ramblings although some people didn't notice when I wasn't being serious.
DeleteThank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
That's a fun take on ABC. I have overwatered plants and killed them. :)
ReplyDeleteLive and Learn: It's why I don't have plants.
DeleteThank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
Your ABC #3 reminds me of a coffee mug I have which says on it -- "Good morning. I see the assassins have failed."
ReplyDeleteDebra: That's a good slogan or whatever you call them.
DeleteThank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
Fun
ReplyDeleteChristine: Thank you for stopping by. Have a lovely day.
DeleteThe struggle is real, I am still looking for coffee as an ingredient in coffee cake recipes 😄
ReplyDeleteI love the playful idea of “authoring barmy chronicles” and the quirky mini stories have a fun, offbeat humor that makes them memorable.
Tamara: Never had coffee cake or anything coffee related.
DeleteThank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
I always kill my plants because I give them too much water...go figure.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Barbie
By the way... you won the prize! I don't have a prize to give, but congratulations!
Barbie: You have to follow the instructions - some plants when you get them have instructions about watering which I ignored.
DeleteThanks for the prize which I'm not getting but that's okay because words are sometimes worth more.
Thank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
Number 5 amused me.
ReplyDeleteSamantha: It amuses me too. I would like a coffee table that makes tea.
DeleteThank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
I love the painter's story LOL. And the theme you choose for your challenge suits your blog perfectly. I wasn't familiar with the word "barmy", so that's a plus.
ReplyDeleteRoberta: You don't find the painter's story sad? I tried to think of a happy ending but I couldn't so used that one.
DeleteThank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
You got me on #10. I did not see where that one was going.
ReplyDeleteMisadventures of Widowhood: There's no #10, do you mean #5?
DeleteThank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
I love your stories. As to #1, my plants die, no matter how often I water them, sometimes too often, sometimes not often enough. And then, let me know if you find someone for #3. ;)
ReplyDeleteMarianne: Overwatering and underwating plants is a problem but that's okay. I doubt I would find a solution for #3.
DeleteThank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
Such a pity. I would so relying on that. ;)
