Speechless

The choices for today are: (1) subway (2) Se a vida é (That's the way life is), (3) speechless. The chosen word is speechless.

"I am a writer perhaps because I am not a talker." - Gwendolyn Brooks

The above quote might be me making that statement. I am not much of a talker except when I'm writing (like on this blog). I guess I can be a bit speechless or silent which I suppose might bother some people. In conversations with people, my mind would sometimes go blank. The subject matter have to be real interest to me or else I have nothing to say about it. Plus, I'm not good with small talk or even regular talk. As I said, I'm not much of a talker.

Are you a good talker?

For tomorrow, the letter T, the choices are (1) tiny, (2) two, (3) transport. Choose which word I might ramble about or tell a story.

  1. I've learned to hold up my social obligations for conversation, but it's never been natural for me, and it wears me out! @samanthabwriter from

    1. Samantha Bryant: I've learned the same thing and yet, it's still hard to have conversations, especially long ones.

  2. No I am not much of a talker unless I know the person.
Especially on the phone I forget stuff very stressful.

    1. Kristin: It's strange but I find conversations on the phone just as daunting as in person even when I do know the person.

  3. I have often noticed that people who are skilled talkers are less skilled writers, and vice versa. My writing skills are better than my speaking skills, which is why I blog and don't make videos instead. For tomorrow's word, I vote for "two."

    1. Debra: Same here. There's no chance I'll ever speak in front of a camera or even behind it.

    I pick "two" for tomorrow.

  6. I like tiny for tomorrow.
I find small talk difficult. And stressful.

    1. Elephant's Child: Small talk - don't like it either. Why can't we just have silence?

  7. I'm a talker if I know the person, otherwise I'm not good at small talk.

  8. I'm not much of a talker unless I really know a person. I'm usually just happy standing quietly in the background.

    1. Ashley Sapp: I do that too - just stand there and hope the conversation change to something else or doesn't last too long.

  9. It's interesting how much your commentors skew in the direction of non-talkers. I'm definitely in that rank as well. There's sort of an advantage in that perhaps, as when I do say something people tend to listen. But I'm certainly glad I found my "writing" voice, although it took a while to get comfortable with it.

BTW, I'm really enjoying your various letter cups - how fun!

    1. Deborah Weber: I suppose most of us being bloggers is because we're not huge talkers. Blogging is speaking with using your actual voice. As the writing voice, I don't know if I have found it yet but I certainly know how to write better than I speak.

I love creating those cup arts. There are so many cup designs out there, some cute, funny, elegant, and some just weird. I looked up a few to get some inspiration.

Thank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
