  1. I've spent vast quantities of my life in libraries reading, studying, and doing research.

    1. River: Some place are just too far to go. If there aren't any public transportation, I probably wouldn't have gone anywhere.

Thank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.

  5. I love libraries. When I was a child, Tuesday was the best day. That's when Mom came early to get us, and we went to the library. I could have five books.
Nowadays our libraries are turning into "culture centres". Books get steadily fewer and sorted after age-groups and themes, so that you are never surprised by books you did not look for. 3D printers, playgrounds and computer cubicles take over more and more space ... I have begun collecting second hand books to make my own library crammed with old, good-smelling and diverse books. Ordered after children/grown-up and then the title only for surprises along the shelves.

    1. Charlotte: Going to the library as a kid is probably more fun than as an adult. I guess advance in technology does change libraries. But some libraries have really useful things for people who can't afford them, like computers and such.

I like your the idea of a private library. Surprise titles - sounds fun.

Thank you for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
