Ten Book Series I Deemed As Finished

If a book series is good, I want more but if a series is the opposite, I would wonder why it's so long. Sometimes I think authors/publishers are dragging out storylines so that there would be more books. Maybe we will never get to control how long or how short a series is but we can choose not to read them. Book series are getting ridiculously long and I refuse to endure a series if I'm not getting along with them. Here the books series I'm done with.

01 - Noodle Shop Mystery by Vivien Chien (7 books read, 13 released so far) 
I thought by book 6 or even 7, Lana (the main character) would grow a bit (investigation skills for example) but nope. Every book is pretty much the same so I thought reading 7 books is enough. The 14th book will soon be released which tells me that this will probably be 20 or 30 books long but I don't like Lana enough to follow her slow growth. I can read for the mystery but I find them a bit dull. The one fun thing is the covers - one can enjoy searching for a skull on every cover.

02 - Murder, She Wrote by Jessica Fletcher and various authors (12 books read, 62 released so far)
I think reading 12 books is enough since they mostly follow the same format. But I do think Jessica Fletcher is the most health conscious character I've ever read but she didn't interest me enough to continue. 

03 - Countess of Harleigh Mystery series by Dianne Freeman (6 books read, 9 released so far)
Same reason as book series #1 & 2 - the format was starting to be the same but I was mostly bored with the main characters.

04 - The Dragon Warrior series by Katie Zhao (2 books read, 2 released so far)
They could have finished the series with book 2 but they didn't. There seems to be no book 3 so far but I probably won't read it.

05 - Chet and Bernie by Spencer Quinn (2 books read, 16 released so far)
I like the first book but by book two, I find Chet's (the dog) one-side point of view a bit annoying because we don't know what happen to Bernie when Chet's not by his side and Chet seems to be not by Bernie's side a lot. Also, I think Bernie is just not smart enough to be a detective and for a dog owner, he didn't know his dog too well. Chet seems to encounter a lot of clues but he couldn't tell them to Bernie so most of the time, it's frustrating to know something that took Bernie a long while to figure out. So maybe this series is more about Chet the dog and less about Bernie the human and I just didn't care for that.

06 - The Ill-Mannered Ladies by Alison Goodman (2 books read, 2 released so far) 
Book 1 was great. Book 2 is basically book 1 with more suffering for the ladies which frankly made that entire book hard to endure and they ended a main storyline that started in book 1 as a dead-end and that made me mad. They could have finished the series in book 2 or at least finish that particular storyline but no, they want to make the reader mad so that they will read more books. I say, the heck with this series.

07 - The Perry Mason Mysteries by Erle Stanley Gardner (3 books read, 85 released)  
Having read three books (which was part of a 3-book set that included The case of the lazy lover, The case of the lonely heiress, The case of the dubious bridegroom), I had enough of the series. But these three are not the first three books in the series which didn't seem to matter as they seem like standalones. But I wasn't impressed or interested enough to read the rest of the series.

08 - Series of unfortunate events by Lemony Snicket (3 books read, 13 released)
I didn't like enough of these first three books to conitnue the series but it does seem to me that they are all formatted the same way - the children get into some trouble, then it's fine and then the next book they start over. 

09 - The Myth of Monsters by Katherine Marsh (2 books read, 2 released so far)
I really did enjoy book 1 but book 2 was almost the same as book 1 with added myths/revelation. Mostly, I'm frusrated by all the storylines where the gods are constantly winning and the children are constantly suffering and any good revelation becomes another depressing story. Is mythology supposed to be this depressing?

10 - The Legends of Eerie-on-Sea by Thomas Taylor, Tom Booth (Illustrator) (3 books read, 5 released)
I'm annoyed they kept bringing back the villain after he was killed in book 1 - the damn guy had been killed in every book I read. And they kept promising we would get Herbie's (one of the main character) back story but they put it off until the 5th book, the final book. Even though I want to know, I'm too mad to read the other two books.
