I don't know why I spent so much time watching shows with mediocre storylines but I guess my brain wasn't quite functioning. (Note: Most of these are out of context but I hope they make some sense.) Here are some vexing tv shows storylines.
01 - Dying person brought back to life and then gets killed - What is the point of this? You give us hope and then kill it along with the character.
02 - A woman's supposedly boyfriend dies and then some new character is introduced who looks exactly the same as the boyfriend who died - This kind of coincidence is just dumb. Then she got to know the guy and started hanging with him. If someone almost killed you and gave you PTSD so that you can barely function, you should run away from his doppelgänger as fast as possible.
03 - People using their phones to film instead of running away from danger - There is a shootout at a park but instead of running away, people stopped and took out their phones and started filming. This is a reality I really don't want to see. It's ridiculous that we rather prefer filming than dodging bullets.
04 - Too much drama for one relationship - They tried to keep a couple apart by having the man maybe have a deliberating disease and when that didn't happen, a third party wormed his way into the relationship and caused doubts in the couple, then the third party went away but she too went away, came back with PTSD and the couple didn't get together, instead, her sister died and even though it wasn't the guy's fault, her family blamed him and suddenly is against him marrying their daughter - what the hell this all this? Yes, a relationship hard won is worth more but this is ridiculous and do they get a happy ending? Nope. Just a hint they might get together - the end of the show.
05 - Woman almost killed her ex-boyfriend but didn't get punished - There was a show where a woman poisoned her ex-boyfriend so that he lost his taste bud one by one which is quite a career killer because he was a chef but then he lost his sight which meant his career is dead but did the woman get any kind of punishment or anything? She confessed to the police, got locked up for maybe two days and then was released, welcomed back by her family and friends and back into society almost as if nothing had happened. She didn't ask for forgiveness nor confess to her ex about her criminal acts. The worse thing was, the doctor friend who was in love with her, who was also the ex-boyfriend's doctor, knew all about it but didn't bother to protect his patient, just give her a small warning not to do it again which didn't do anything - all he had to do was tell his patient about it but nope, he preferred to protect her.
The ex almost died trying out an illegal cure to get his eyesight back and did he go and confront her for her crimes? Nope. He did nothing. He completely dismiss all the pain and suffering and just move on - who the heck is so gracious to do that? It was a very unsatisfied end especially consider this show is 30-something episodes long. And other characters who did terrible things didn't get punished either. Everyone's happy-happy and they all sang at the end.
06 - Dull show with an exciting end that got cut off - The entire show is about how people (more like two people since other characters are dull), became pilots and captains (which was really fascinating to me) and with some relationship stuff in between. It would have been a great show but the writers apparently have no clue about anything exception for the airplane/pilot stuff. The main romance pretty much killed the show with a lot of focus on that relationship. You can't even call that relationship a romance since they just tolerate each other instead of enjoying each other's company. He probably did love her but she was like a wooden doll with an occasional tantrum and they were too polite to each other.
And then there was the hateful guy - I couldn't stand his character. I keep thinking why didn't he die because his character annoyed me with everything he did and said. But I kept watching because...I had a brain malfunction or something.
Then it ended with a really good storyline about with maybe a plane crash but they just cut it off and it's like a thousand years later, everything's okey-dokey - why do I care what happened later when we don't even get to see what really happened at that ending storyline? So yes, we can assume it's a happy ending because all the characters are alive. After suffering 47 episodes to get to a good storyline, you would think they would at least complete something worth watching. I guess they spent their budget on clothes, setting, actors but none on writers or people who actually know what is entertaining.
07 - No respect for female naked corpses - One show has a naked corpse shown (they pulled the sheet that covered her down to her chest revealing her breast) to a family member to identify her. Yes, sir, that is my sister, I can identify her by her breast. If this is real life, who wants to see their dead family member's breast as the last image? And also, they had performed an autopsy so the body has stitches so there's another thing the family member sees. Also, when they found the body hanging on a tree, they dropped her down like she is a piece of rock which I'm sure resulted in broken bones and if she wasn't dead, she would have died. I guess I don't like how careless they are with dead people but also these are actresses baring their bodies (except for the part of dropping down a tree) - who knows maybe they are freezing their bums off lying there. I stopped watching but not because of that but when the cops decide to have sex while talking about the woman's case right in the lab/office as if the writers think discussions of evidence is not exciting enough for the viewers.
There was another show where two people talked where a naked corpse (another female with her breast uncovered) lies in the room. Sure, they are talking about her case but neither person is examining her body and only give her a glance or two so she's basically background. Was it even necessary for her to be there at all?
Would I be annoyed if these were men lying naked? Probably not but men go about shirtless on the streets and everyone accepts that as normal but women don't go shirtless, at least, none that I have witnessed.
So they don't care about nudity but how about some respect for the dead? I know these are just tv shows but it's a careless way of doing things and if this is real life, who treats victims like that? Maybe I'm a prude but I think a little respect for females (however fictional) is not a bad thing. Not to mention respecting the actresses. I doubt they are pay much to be nude and used as props.
08 - Too disgusted by men behaviors to keep watching - There was this series with the beginning where the woman (more of a girl since she's probably 18 or under) was drugged by one of her father's friend who was going to rape her right in her own house but he was interrupted and since being drugged, it caused her to be horny so she ended up having sex with another man, got pregnant but neither man got blamed or took responsibility for the child which she is shamed for not only by her family but by the man who drugged her and making it sounded like she is at fault. And this is a romance. Who the hell wants to continue after that?
What have you watched that caused a few brain malfunction or vexation?

I'm tempted to point out that these tropes do unfortunately often reflect real life. That's just how stupid and disgusting our human experiences can be!
