Cooler hues for the summer

I've changed my header and background color on my blog for a cooler hue for summer. As I look at my blog often when previewing posts, I prefer to have cool tones in the summer (and warm tones in the winter). It helps with the hot weather. Of course I can't help but tweaked the design slightly though just the main name.

I also change my curtains to greens and blues at home and also some artworks. I think it did help to keep cool. Just like having a bright yellow curtains makes a room seems warmer but it may all be an illusion but I do believe colors create certain moods so why not change what you can.

Do you change your environment to cooler or warmer hues for seasonal changes?

  1. Very nice. I do change my artificial flowers around the house from winter to summer flowers.

    1. Christine: I think changing flowers sounds nice. Even fake flowers brightens a room.

Thank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.

  2. I like the cooler hues you have used. In my apartment, I change nothing dependent on the seasons, except for putting my balcony furniture out in the summer and putting it away in the winter. Although come to think of it, that's a pretty big change.

    1. Debra: That is a big environment change, actually moving furniture even if it's temporary furniture. Sitting in the balcony sounds relaxing.

  3. Only my wardrobe changes with the seasons. I used to change my front door hanging decor, but the older I get, the less energy I have for this.

I love both sets of soft colors!

    1. Donna: Yes, I also change wardrobe because you certainly can't be wearing a thick shirt in the summer heat.

I'm a soft color or light color fan. I don't like high contrast colors, not when I have to be looking at it often.

  4. While I may add a few seasonal accents, I do not change things for the seasons. If I am lucky enough to figure out décor that I like, I don't mess with it. Decorating is not my strength.

    1. Live and Learn: I like to change but in an easy way. I don't know much about decorating either so I stick to the same-old, same-old.

  5. It never occurred to me to change environment colours based on the season (I don't even have enough energy to keep the house clean). Does it trick you into feeling cooler or warmer?

I love the small tweak you did on the banner.

    1. Roberta: For me, it seems to work. Looking at cooler hues during the summer does sort of keep me calm and cool. But of course it doesn't work in extreme temperature but I suppose it helps your mood and when you're in a calm state, your body temperature is lower or so in theory. But I guess it's what are willing to believe.

I'm used to making small tweaks in all my designs, not that everyone notices.

Thank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.

  6. I am far too lazy to change colours for the season. Perhaps I should. Love your colour changes though.

  8. The new header is better, the letters are not ... bothering one another. I like warm, so cool colours I migt save for the hottest of hot summer days in August ;) But on principle I like changing things with the seasons. Long ago I changed curtains, and loved it. Heavy, dark one for cozy winter, and ligthwieght off white for bright summer days. Now I have too many, too big windows.

    1. Charlotte: The letters in my header did seem like they are fighting or something. I guess this is why I change it.

Curtains are a great but I guess if there are too many windows, it's daunting to change them all every season.

Thank you for coming by. Have a lovely day.
