October is the month for Inktober in which artists try to draw with ink so that's what I'm going for this month. But I'm not going to use the prompts. So basically, I'm just drawing. But I'm going with a theme - Monsters and Flowers. I have a love for flowers although most of the time, I have no clue of flower names but I love them. I have a calendar for this year with flower art and one day I just saw a monster there and drew it and then I decided to do more. I used the term monster but it's more like awkward-looking creatures. (I'm using Pigma Micron archival ink pens. The color in #3 is done by a sharpie which I am unlikely to use again since it had a scent I don't like.) If you like to know more about Inktober, go here.
Debra: I often seem to lean towards making things cute or childish so my monsters aren't scary. You picked the ones I almost decided on not posting as I didn't like them at first until I reworked them.
I love how you are expressing your theme. I liked each one of these and paused at each one to consider it. If I had to choose one that made me pause longer and smile more it would be #11. Lovely autumn to you too. PS i love flowers too.
I love your Inktober art, they remind me of illustrations that might appear in children's books. I love #2, #4 and #8. They're all so whimsical and cute, and I love the monster girl walking her pet. -Quinley
Quinley: For some reason, I just like to make them cute so, yeah, they are a bit like children's illustrations. #2 is one of my favorite-favorite, I just like how prim she looks.
I'm impressed. I like the concept behind InkTober, but always one or more of the prompts makes my inner canvas go blank. I then promise to start over tomorrow and always forget. I have done a glorious three drawings so far! Do you know simple Daily Drawing - they have prompts for each day all year round. I liked your first monster best.
Charlotte: I don't know Daily Drawing but I don't do well with drawing prompts so I don't really seek them out. #1 is actually my first drawing or at least, the first drawing that I thought is worth sharing.
Elephant's Child: #8 seems popular with people but it's one of the drawing I kind of thought was just too simple but looking at it now, I like more for being simple.
I missed your art! I think N°1 and 11 are my favourite, but 3, 7 and 10 are probably the most creative. I like N°12 too, but I'm not sure what the creature on top would be...I mean, the one below has legs (sort of), while the other has appendixes, and I can't really tell how they're supposed to work LOL. Still cute though!
Roberta R.: For #12, I don't know how they are supposed to work either. I just think they are two creatures that somehow are companions but still sort of independent or that the creature on top can grow legs when necessary? I have no idea what the thought was when I was drawing that.
Your delightful drawings are so full of whimsy and imagination! They're the kind of monsters I like! # 3,6, 8 and 10 are my faves!

These are cute. Flowers and creatures go well together! I like the fifth one a lot.
